Nico qualified as a Chartered Accountant and is a CFA charter holder. After completing his articles he was sent on a secondment to the USA by Deloitte. Nico then spent some time in London gaining experience in investment products and banking. Nico returned to South Africa and was involved with fund accounting of property funds at Old Mutual. He Joined X-Chequer in 2007 as a fundamental equity research analyst when the business was established. In 2014 Nico joined the Portfolio Management Team of the SA Equity Strategy whilst maintaining his responsibilities as an analyst for the Hedge Funds.
